Aims of SLFF

  • protects the educational writers' rights in dealing with publishers and authorities
  • negotiates general agreements and other agreements with publishers and organisations
  • monitors issues concerning copyright
  • offers extensive service to its members to increase the members' competence and creates fellowships in an often lonely occupation
  • works for better contacts among all those in the field of teaching materials, both within Sweden and abroad
  • promotes intensive co-operation, both internationally and within Scandinavia
  • is a member of The Nordic Author and Translator Council and The European Writers' Council (EWC)

Chronology of SLFF

  • 1960 SLFF was founded by four senior high school teachers in Stockholm
  • 1973 Copying agreement between the government and the copyright associations
  • 1977 SLFF established its administration office. The first copy of its membership magazine - Manus - was published.
  • 1984 The general agreement between SLFF and the Association of Swedish Textbook Producers was signed.
  • 1995 SLFF, the Swedish Drama Association, the Swedish Writers' Association and the Swedish Journalist Association founded the association ALIS, the Administration of Literary Rights In Sweden. ALIS looks after the ethical and economic rights of the authors when their material is being used secondarily.
  • 1995 SLFF joins European Writers' Council (EWC)
  • 1997 SLFF became a member of KLYS - the Swedish Joint Committee for Artistic and Literary professionals.
  • 1998 SLFF became a member of Copyswede
  • 2000 SLFF was 40!
  • 2002 LFF changes name to Sveriges Läromedelsförfattares Förbund (SLFF).
  • 2004 SLFF enters the Idégruppen for Världsbokdagen.
  • 2007 SLFF form a wholly owned service company: Läromedelsförfattarna i Sverige AB (LISAB).
  • 2008 LISAB is a member of Bonus Presskopia.
